ELDER SORIA
Why did I get into Pharmacy School? I have always loved Chemistry and Biology, and pharmacy is the best combination of both.... I LOVE my profession.
My education began at Havana University in Cuba. In 1994, I graduated Havana University with honors and started working at a lab that focused on medicinal plants. In 1997, I moved to Chile, South America, where I worked as teacher for Pharmacy Technicians and received my degree as Pharmacist-Chemist from Universidad de Chile in Santiago. After getting my degree, I worked as Pharmacist Manager for Ahumadas and Salco-Brand retail pharmacies.
I came to the US in 2002, starting from scratch again with surviving jobs until I was hired by Walgreens as a Pharmacy Technician in the summer of 2003. Shortly after, I became an Pharmacy Intern and eventually, in 2006, I received my pharmacy license. After that, I continued to work for Walgreens for just shy of 12 years. I left the company to join Carla in creating America's Pharmacy.
My goals in opening America's Pharmacy are to be able to give personalized attention to my patients, to offer new services like Diabetes and Hypertension awareness and follow up work with chronic conditions. I am proud to offer fast and friendly service to families in my area for the same price as BIG BUCKS companies. Also, we can offer pharmacy service in Spanish and Portuguese to the people who have difficulties expressing themselves in English.
"I know America's Pharmacy will make the difference for Americans and Latinos alike!"
EDUARDO AMARAL
My name is Eduardo Amaral, I was born in João Pessoa / Paraiba / Brazil. I moved to the US in January 2012.
I have worked in several pharmacy segments. In 2015 I started working at America's Pharmacy. Today I am General Manager in Sarasota and Bradenton. I am very proud to work for this company whose main goal is to help its patients and the Latin community.
America's Pharmacy really brought Sarasota and Bradenton a model of pharmacy different from the others by hiring bilingual workers and providing an excellent team of pharmacists who always assist with any questions regarding the medicine and health.
NELSY FARINAS
My name is Nelsy Farinas and I am 27 years old. I was born and raised in Cuba where I lived until I was thirteen years old. In 2009 my mother and I migrated to the United States to join my father. Arriving in this country full of opportunities, I was able to continue my studies and obtain my high school diploma. I am currently studying at the State College of Florida to obtain my associate in Sciences so I can continue my studies in Pharmacy School.
I started working at America's Pharmacy six years ago as a cashier and a few months later, thanks to my efforts and the support of my colleagues, I was able to obtain my Pharmacy Technician license.
I am very proud to belong to this team of professionals who strive every day to help our Latino community in Sarasota, Bradenton, Kissimmee and going to Port Charlotte this year...CHEERS!
KENNEN MUÑOZ
My name is Kennen Muñoz Muñoz and I was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico. In 2007, I graduated from the Inter-American University San Germán Campus obtaining my Bachelor of Science with magna cum laude honors. In 2010, I started a postgraduate education program in the same University finishing the Master of Sciences in 2013.
In 2015, I moved to Florida with my wife following one of my greatest dreams by starting pharmacy school. It was difficult to leave behind our Country and much more our families but in the end hard work pays off.
In January 2017 I joined America’s Pharmacy family as a pharmacy intern. That opportunity was the beginning of this amazing journey. Now after finished my Pharmacy Doctorate at LECOM School of Pharmacy, I am working as a registered pharmacist in this great family-oriented company.
Since the pharmacists are the most accessible part of the healthcare team, one of my tasks here at Americas Pharmacy is to help our Hispanic population with their medication therapy management, medication counseling, giving immunizations and providing solutions to their health-related problem.
"My priority is to achieve positive outcomes for both our patients and the community."
